COLLECTIVE  EXHIBITION IN MEMORIAM JENŐ GYÖRGY REMSEY
(1885-1980) THE PAINTER AND WRITER

The Association of the "Friends of the School of Tervuren" organizes from March 26th, 2010 to September 26th, 2010 an important exhibition about Edouard Huberti (1818-1880) in the Municipal Museum of Tervuren ("Court of Melijn"). Huberti is called the "godfather of the School of Tervuren" . Not only was he a great painter but also a musician and composer, an architect and a famous illustrator. A catalogue is available.

The name of our summer-exhibition is "Het Verhaal van de Talenten" ("The Story of the Talents"), because two painters and their two granddaughters, who work as a professional painter and as a professional sculptor, are the subject.

The exhibition shows the historic and artistic value of the collection of the Museo Comunale d´ Arte Moderna di Ascona. It illustrates the international cultural view of the first two decades of the last century, with specific emphasis to the year of the foundation of the museum.

The exhibition "The Angelus Inspiration" will be held in honour to the French painter Jean François Millet who created, one hundred-fifty years ago, his famous masterpiece “Angelus”.

Not only painters and sculptors were related to Plasmolen-Mook, but also writers and poets.

Mexican School & Mexican Contemporary Art

Under the auspices of the Mexican Consulate and with support of the „Galerie am Park“ in Frankfurt, the Museum Society Kronberg show for the first time works of modern art in the Museum “Malerkolonie Kronberg”. The exhibition shows works from the collection of Wolbert-Lichtenstein with exhibits from Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros and others.

They were and are the masters of black and white photo art, such as Ansel Adams (landscape), Henri Cartier Bresson, August Sander (portrait), Karl Blossfeld (plants), Bernd Becher (architecture), who influenced Hans Reitz over and over again, and created such a wide range of black and white photography. Only the black and white photography allows such creative possibilities. Hans Reitz still uses the analogue technique, because the process from the picture taking to the film development and the final image as seen in the darkroom, are part of an intimate experience.

Kunst muß weh tun?

The exhibition is dedicated to the American artists who lived and worked in Holland between 1880 and 1914. Hundreds of these artists were drawn to the great tradition of 17th century Dutch art and the work of the contemporary Hague School.  They settled mostly in artists colonies such as Laren, Katwijk, Oosterbeek and Vollendam.

From October 24th until December 4th we show paintings, graphics and sculptings by Gerard Cox sr. (1864-1931) and his granddaughter Julia van Verschuer (1926) in the museum Franz Pfanner Huis in Arcen: Klein Vink 4 (Arcen was the birthplace of Gerard Cox sr.).
Visits on Saturday and Sunday from 13-17 hrs.

Works of Artists´ in Grötzingen, Germany
